I listen to a lot of music and probably am jaded to unknown music. But when I first started listening to "Coming Home" (the 11:12 minute work that opens), I knew it was a special recording. It begins with a distinctively eastern-flavored theme (played on solo 12-string guitar, beautifully recorded), and proceeds to totally involve the listener for its entire eleven plus minutes-no mean feat. Featured are eight original solo guitar compositions and two arrangements for traditional material played on flutes (one of the flutes being a "homemade bass flute from PVC pipe"). This album is one of the reasons that I review records- I might miss a gem like this one otherwise.
